Star Butts

Just a quick post tonight before I head off to bed for an early night :)

This layout I created was for a challenge on Scrap The Boys.
The challenge was to  create a layout featuring your child(rens) school photo

My boys school this year has not yet had school photos, so I have used a pic i tool on their first day.
And yes I know the picture is of their backs...but i will explain...

I have hidden journaling on this layout, so i will explain about the photo...
On the backs of the new school shirts for this school when the children turn around and you see their backs...their 'butt' has a star on it...so the joke goes...Star butts as in star bucks...ummm yeah so another mum and I call our kids 'Star Butts' spose its one of those you have to be their type of things...

anyway have a great night and thanks for looking

Stuck Sketch Challenge 2

I thought I would have ago again at the Stuck Sketch challenge for their second challenge of July.

Here is the sketch...

And this is what I came up with...

I flipped the sketch around so I could use this pick of Andy on his 10th birthday this year.

Here is a close up of some washi tape, and half a vinyl cog from Purple Pumpkin

This close up shows the cute white/red star button, red fluffy button and small blue doily all from Purple Pumpkin

I am Australian

Hello everyone, Hope this weekend finds you well. I have had a better week health wise this week, just the last of a cough other then that all good.

Today I want to share with you a layout I created for the White with 1 challenge blog.
The challenge was White, Polka and tape.

I have been wanting to scrap this photo of Little Fletch for years.
This photo was taken when he was in grade Prep. They had a multicultural afternoon tea for the parents and the children performed a few songs and poems and told us a story. Every Child represented a country, Fletch was lucky enough to represent for Australia. The doll he is holding is representing an Aboriginal Elder. He spoke so well and back then we had no idea what we were going to be dealing with in the future...but we know now...and boy has it been a rough ride...but that's another story I'll share with you at a later date.

I created the polka dot background by using punchenella and blue ink. I cut a random flag type of shape and used the negative and then carefully placed the punchenella on the cardstock and inked all over, then moved the punchenella up and down to fill in the gaps. I had some red/white & blue/white polka dot paper in my scrap stash and thought it would be a great way to use it up.

This is a close up of a Purple pumpkin yo yo with red/white polka dots, very fitting for this layout...also the little Aussie flag I made myself (do you know how hard it is to get Aussie flag toothpicks this time of year???....HARD!)

Here is a close up of the tape i used...it has the word 'Boy' all over it and also a close up of a blue doily with red material that i pulled off a Purple Pumpkin flower and half a Purple pumpkin spotted button ( i cut the button in half with my scissors...too easy)
