Show us your stuff March challenge 1

Looking on the Show us your stuff blog i fell in love with the theme for their first challenge...

**Scrap something that you cant live without**
and as always you must include a handmade item(by you or someone else)

Well most people that know me know that there is one thing in my life i just CANT LIVE WITHOUT...and that would be MUSIC. So for my entry for the 1st challenge for March I have decided to scrap...yep My IPod Nano, it holds all my favourite tunes I love...

This is the layout, i was so excited with how it turned out, i normally scrap pics of people so this was all new for me scrapping an object. When you first see this layout in person you think i have really stuck an ipod onto the layout. How i got the effect was by taking a pic of my ipod while it was on and then once printed I cut it out and mounted it up using foam.

You cant read it that well (due to bad lighting at my place atm) but the tiny bit of journaling reads:
'Without music my days would be way to boring.
I can ALWAYS find a song for ANY mood I'm in.
I wish that everyone could break into song & dance like in the MOVIES!'

Here shows off some of my stitching with my new favorite tool by We Are Memory Keepers its the Sew Easy and it is a great little tool to use. I also have here a pair of headphones, they were a little too long so i pulled them apart, made the cable shorter and then stuffed it back into the base. Easy!
Now for my hand made embellishment, I am getting really into making my own buttons and creations using Polymer clay. I don't have any tools really, i just use my hands and things i have lying around (to roll it out I've been using my pen - hehehe) so here you can see my treble clef and 3 musical notes.

And what better paper range to use for a musical inspired layout...Imaginisce's 'Live Loud'

Some things to share :)

Hi everyone,

Thought I would share 2 small canvases I have done of my two boys, Andy and Fletch.
This here is Andy, with his lil Guinea Pig Buzz.

And here is lil Fletch with his Guinea Pig Blaster - the two of them are the best of friends.

I have used Imaginisce - apple cider to do a very simple mini layout onto canvas.
The boys were thrilled with how they turned out and want me to make more, just dont think we will have enough wall space for more :(

This next layout I did ages ago, nothing flash just some coloured cardstock and HEAPS of cutting of leaves...

This photo was taken of a Koala in a tree at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary a few years ago.

Seeing as Koalas love their Eucalyptus leaves I thought of surrounding the photo with cut out leaves to frame the Koala.
In this close up you can see some 'wattle' i have dabbed onto the layout with a small round foam brush for that 'fluffy' look that wattle has.

Shine

I did this layout awhile ago but haven't posted it onto the blog so thought I would share it with you.
The photo was taken while we were at Sea World (not that you can really tell from the pic)
The story behind this layout is Fletcher never looking at the camera when you are taking a photo of him. His eyes seem to wonder everywhere but where you want them!

I have used the Bo Bunny range called
'Sun Kissed'
The photo was really bright with the yellow t-shirt Fletch was wearing so i knew these bright and funky papers would work really well together.

This is a little journaling I did, I'm not too keen on journaling but am getting better at adding it more to my layouts, i think its because i dislike my hand writing so much, some days i love how I write, but when i take my time it always looks strange to me...

This is a close up of my title the brand name of the chipboard letters i used has left my brain for the moment (when I know i will edit this post with the correct brand name)
I have placed the letters onto co ordinating plain papers to stand out on the bright purple background and then cut the excess off...

Hope you are all having a great week, I will try and post some more on the weekend...

2 layouts with the Seaside collection

Has this week just gone by fast or what???

I have had so many ideas for new layouts and other creations, ive been adding them all into an exercise book my hubby gave me because i was waking in the middle of the night with ideas and forgot them by morning...

I have been loving the 6x6 paper pads that you can get from Kaisercraft I find i can make so many different layouts just out of the one pad.
They are also great as they have specialty papers and die cuts in them.

'On The Beach'
This layout is of me and my cousin back when we were kids at a beach in Victoria.
(im the little one on the left)
I have used the 'Seaside' collection in both of the layouts you will see in this post. I loved the colouring of this collection.
Here is a close up of the arrangement i did with the flowers that were printed on a paper in the pad.

'Summer time Fun'
This layout is of my two boys in the pool (duh!) they used to love going to visit my aunty's house to swim in their pool on a hot summers day. Recently they sold their house so we wont be able to do that later when summer hits us again. :(
I have also used kaisercraft rhinestones on this layout.

So if you havent already tried using a 6x6 paper pad i would highly recommend that you have a go.

Its moments like these...

I have a new layout to share with you today...have a look below...

'Its moments like these that are Precious to me'
This is one of my favorite pics that my husband took of me and the boys at the Nerima Gardens in Ipswich.
The papers come from the Kaiser craft 'After 5' collection. Along the right hand side of the layout i have embossed a border using the stamp from the After 5 collection, embossing in and black embossing powder.
The word Precious is a chipboard word from WOW . I have embossed it through my Big Shot and have then inked it with silver ink. Really simple technique and it works really well, below is a close up of the embossed word.
