Couture Creations Design Team Audition 2019

Hello, and Welcome to my Design Team Audition for Couture Creations 2019/2020

Concertina Album Using Sunburnt Country

Sunburnt Country would have to be one of my favorite ranges that has been released. Its colours are amazing and the flora and fauna images are just stunning.

The above image is the front of the album. I have used the A4 Kookaburra Decoupage sheet image and some leaves and printed stamp from the ephemera pack. The back ground is Sheet 4 that i got out of the 12x12 Collection pack and I have used some Liquid drop 3D Pearls in Buttercup to highlight the blossoms from the wattle.

I created this Concertina Album from scratch using Chipboard and Cardstock. I will show the basic concept of putting it together towards the end.

This is what it looks like opened fully, and below are larger images of each section I created with more detail.

I created 2 tags using the images from the paper ....

This is the other side of the album
and below are close up images for more detail.

The basic construction for this album
Firstly, Cut chipboard to desired size.
Cut cardstock 1.5cm larger then the chipboard
Cut corners, and then fold over the overhang and stick down with your choice of adhesive. I used double sided tape.
Work out the size you want for the Concertina part of the Album, then fold in the Mountain/Valley fold. Then attach to the front and back covers of the album. Lastly use coordinating papers and embellishments to decorate.

With another image from the Kookaburra 3D pack I whipped up this card with left over papers. The paper is Sheet 10.

Layout using Sunburnt Country
I love a little fussy cutting, and the paper Sheet 8 from Sunburnt Country was asking for it...so I did and it lead me to create this cute little layout of my son, and I even added some real items from my backyard as a little extra.

Fussy cutting and finding the right sized stick was a challenge for the bird, but I did manage to find one that helped give the layout more dimension. Sheet 5 will have this gorgeous bird from Sunburnt Country

I even managed to wrap the birds feet/claws around the stick so it looks likeit is perched there.

Layout using Gentleman's Emporium
I have been holding onto this photo of my grandfather for some time. It was taken back in the 80s at one of his favorite fishing locations.
Below is a little close up of the layering I created for the layout.

Although this is not a current Video of my work, I thought I would include this so you can see how I produce and create videos for Demos/projects.

Keto - Raspberry Chia seed Jam

Hello everyone, something a little bit different for you today. Im sharing a recipe I found for Raspberry Chia seed Jam.

Like every year I have made the decision to get healthy, but after a month or so I give up and go back to my old ways.
This year I have started a new journey to change my lifestyle habits. I'm trying the Keto lifestyle.
Keep reading after the recipe to find out the basics of a Keto 'Diet'

Raspberry Chia Seed Jam

Ingredients:
3 cups of Raspberries (frozen or fresh) I used frozen
Juice of 1 lemon - I used about 1.5 tablespoons of liquid lemon juice from Aldi
2 Tablespoons of natural Sweetener - I have used Raw Earth brand Stevia & Monk Fruit Sweetener
3.5 Tablespoons of Chia Seeds

1. Place raspberries and lemon juice into a large saucepan over a medium heat until soft.

2.  Mash them up and add sweetener.

3. Stir in Chia seeds and let cool.
Pretty simple and SUPER tasty.

Recipe found on instagram @ketoxoxo

Before I go any further...
I am NO EXPERT or DOCTOR so if you want to try this lifestyle, please check with your doctor!!!

So what is Keto?
"The keto diet changes the way your body converts food into energy. Eating a lot of fat and very few carbs puts you in ketosis, a metabolic state where your body burns fat instead of carbs for fuel. When your body is unable to get glucose from carbs, your liver converts fatty acids from your diet into ketones, an alternative source of energy. Burning ketones in place of glucose reduces inflammation and spurs weight loss." (taken from Keto Diet for beginners)

Thanks for stopping by, I am hoping to share a few recipes every week ass well as my other creative little projects.

Beautiful - Layout

I know its been a long time between posts, I have been flat out busy with my new little business Embellish With Flair and have been lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to teach at a few craft shows around Australia.
Next week I am off to Canberra and later in the Month Melbourne.

I just want to share a layout I recently created of my gorgeous cousin.
I have used many different products on this layout so I will do my best to list them as I share the layout with you.

BEAUTIFUL

I started with white cardstock, I watered down some yellow chalk paint and used a plastic bag to sponge the paint onto the cardstock.

I then used Damask Stencil 9025 from Scrapmatts with modelling paste and randomly went over the painted area.

I wanted to add another colour, so I used a dark shade of brown water paint and added a splash here and there.

I also added a little stamping to the background.

I then painted the hexagon chipboard with some metallic copper paint and tucked it under the photo and to the top left of the layout.

I also tucked some a few chipboard leaf sprays under the flowers, I painted them with some Gold metallic paint and then using my finger I applied a little white gesso to soften the look.

To finish of the layout I used some chipboard words 'Beautiful'
and 'Close to my heart'
I love the natural brown leather look these chipboard pieces have, and they worked really well on this layout.
